A two- or three-night break.  Afternoon tea on arrival, roaring log fire in the snug and large, well-appointed room. We have a collection of annotated maps for walks in the village and surrounding countryside.  Coffee and tea available throughtout the stay.
 
Seven-course Valentine dinner by candlelight in one of three private dining rooms.

Lobster on the half shell
with a lightly spiced coconut and cream sauce,
saffron rice and fresh asparagus spears
 
Medallions of Barbery duck cooked to your liking
with a sauce of Old Vicarage damsons,
wedges of sweet potato, French beans
 
Hot gooey chocolate pudding
with rum-marinated red cherries
 
A selection of regional English cheeses
with warm rolls and biscuits
